
LCC Infotech launches tax info portal

Come Budget day and the incorrigible Net
surfer will be able to read every word finance minister Yashwant Sinha says during his
Budget speech within two minutes of his doing so on the floor of Parliament.
Infotech education major LCC Infotech has
recently floated a new company elccinfo.com to ideate, create and administer web portal on
various subjects.
To start with, elccinfo.com is launching a
vertical portal (vortal) taxsolutionsindia.com. The site will provide comprehensive
information and services to the taxpayer.
The site will be uploaded in phases with
the first phase being uploaded in time to host the Union Budget 2000.
Elccinfor.com has roped in Calcutta-based
allindia.com, owners of the community sites Batchmates.com and companymates.com, to
outsource expertise in portal development.
"Given their experience and expertise
in portal development and management we decided to follow the global practice of
outsourcing portal expertise and ask allindia.com to help us set up the site," said
Mr. Suresh Lakhotia, the managing director of elccinfo.com.
The site will have a foreword by the
eminent tax expert Mr. R.N. Lakhotia.
"This will be the most comprehensive
tax portal in the country as we intend to cover all types of taxation, albeit in
phases," Mr. Lakhotia said.
To start with, on Budget day the site,
besides covering Budget 2000 live, will have an interactive section where surfers can ask
a panel of experts their views on various tax-related matters.
The panel of experts will include: Mr.
Sudhir Jalan, past president of Ficci, Mr. Abhijit Sen of Nicco, Mr. Sukumar Bhattacharya,
Mr. Vivek Mehra, executive director of Pricewater-houseCoopers and a few others.
The site will also have expert comments on
the Budget, a tax calculator and many features designed to help surfers get as much
information as they want on the Union Budget, 2000.
"allindia.com is delighted to work
with Mr. Lakhotia on the portal and we shall employ a number of proprietary technologies
to add buzz to the site," said Mr. Sandeep Todi, the CEO of allindia.com Pvt Ltd.
Mr. Todis company has been hosting
the Budget live for the last three years.
"We do have the experience needed to
make the vortal a successful one," Mr. Todi said. |
