Visas

Visa Form

This High Commission is issuing the following categories of visas to Singapore nationals and other foreigners, who are bonafide residents of Singapore:-
 
a. Transit Visa
Valid for direct transit only and period of stay of maximum fifteen days. Should produce confirmed onward journey tickets.
b. Tourist Visa
Normally issued to applicants who have no residence/occupation in India with a sole objective of visiting India for sight-seeing and casual visits to friends/relations. Valid for six months.
c. Business Visa
To visit India on short term and long term purposes. These facilities also extended to the Executives of firms, engineers, technicians, etc.
Five-year multi-entry business visas are also issued.
d. Students Visa
This visa is issued for one-year period at a time for those students studying in regular academic courses in India. The students should hold proof of admission to a recognised educational institutions.
e. Long Term Visa. This visa is issued to the individuals of Indian origin
for a period of five years.
 
REVISION OF VISA FEE

In accordance with Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi circular No: VII/406/3/99 dated August 7, 2000, Visa fee is being revised with effect from 1st October, 2000.

The new visa fee structure is as follows:

(A) (FOR ALL NATIONALS INCLUDING SINGAPOREANS)

1. Transit Visa (valid for up to 15 days-single/double entry) - S$20/-

2. Student Visa (Valid for the duration of the course or for - S$ 150/-

    A period of five years, whichever is less, multiple entry

3. All types of Visa's other than transit and student visa - S$ 80/-
    Valid up to six months ( multiple entry). Please note : There is no
    provision for three months social visit visa in the new scheme


4. All types of Visa's other than transit and student visa - S$ 130/-
    Valid for over six months and up to one year( multiple entry)

5. All types of Visa's other than transit and student visa - S$ 260/-
    Valid for over one year and up to five years( multiple entry)

(B) US Nationals can get a ten years validity visa for the same fees as that of a five year visa. However all US nationals will be charged S$40/- extra for each category of visa.

(C) Following nationals need not pay any Visa fees : Afghanistan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Hungary, Jamaica, Maldives, Mongolia, Mauritius, Poland, Slovak Republic, South Africa and Uruguay.

(D) Nationals of Nepal and Bhutan do not need visa to enter India.

(E) For Pakistani Nationals Visa fee is S$1.00/-.

(F) For Srilankan Nationals the Visa fee for Single and double entry Visas
     is S$6/- and S$15/- respectively.

(G) For Russian and Romanian Nationals there is no standard visa fee.
     However a service charge of S$80/- and S$ 10/- respectively is levied
     on them.

(H) Holder of US Official passports on non-official travel will be charged
     S$40/-. However US and other Diplomatic passport holders are exempt
     from all fees.

(I) Telex charges of S$20/- will be levied on all persons not resident in
    Singapore but wanting to apply for a visa at the Indian High Commission
    here. (This fee has been reduced from S$40/- to S$20/-)

(J) Fee for transfer of Visa from old passport to new passport is S$10/-.
     This fee is not applicable for categories (C), (E) and (F).

(K) Fee of S$60/- is charged for issue of Restriced Area Permits.
     This fee is not charged on categories (C), (E), and (F).


Please Note:

  1. (1) For express visa service (same day collection), on working days,
    an extra charge of S$100/- will continue to be levied as before.

  2. (2) Service after working hours or on holidays, for cases of genuine emergencies, will be available only between 9.00 pm and 9.30 pm or between 12.00 noon and 12.30 pm. The Consular Officer will have the right to refuse service on holidays or after office hours in case he/she feels that the case is not a genuine emergency. For service on
    holidays or after office hours, an extra fee of S$120/- will be levied.

All services are rendered on the next working day. However, in cases of non-residents, a maximum period of three working days is required to process the case.

Two passport-size photographs are required. Application forms should be duly filled up and signed by the applicants.
